Fes, founded in the 8th century, is the oldest of Morocco's imperial cities and home to the largest medieval medina in the world, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the medina is best discovered on foot through its maze of alleyways, a rental car is essential for exploring the riches of the Fes-Meknes region.
Maroc Elite Transport offers a full range of vehicles suited to Fes and its surroundings. Our city cars are ideal for the new town, while our sedans and SUVs take you comfortably to Meknes, Volubilis, Ifrane or Chefchaouen. Every rental includes comprehensive insurance, unlimited mileage and 24/7 roadside assistance.
Fes is strategically located at the crossroads of Morocco's main routes. The A2 motorway connects you to Rabat and Casablanca, while the national road toward Taza and Oujda opens the gateway to the Oriental region. To the south, the Middle Atlas road leads to Ifrane, Azrou and the cedars of Gouraud.

Driving in Fes is pleasant in the new town (Ville Nouvelle) with its wide boulevards. Avoid driving in the medina (traffic prohibited) — guarded car parks are available at the main gates: Bab Boujloud, Bab Rcif and Place R'cif. Parking costs around 10-20 MAD for the day.
Excursions from Fes are many and varied. Meknes and its majestic Bab Mansour are just 1 hour away. The Roman ruins of Volubilis and the holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun are worth a full day. For nature lovers, Ifrane (the "Switzerland of Morocco") and the cedars of the Middle Atlas offer a complete change of scenery just 1h30 from Fes.
